SMASH originally was a youth club set up in the late 70’s but was started up again in 2002 and is run by volunteers.
SMASH is open to all young people From  Year 5 to 18 years old and is a theatre/choir group that meets on Monday nights from 5.15 – 6.15 pm term time at St. Matthew's Church.

For the last few years we have put on an annual production including themed concerts, Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat, Grease and many jukebox musicals including OZ, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie, Matilda and Jungle Book.


The productions always raise money for various charities for example Great Ormond Street Hospital, Barnardos, Action for Kids, Hannah House Respite Centre, Eckersely House – Sick Children’s Trust, World Land Trust, Christian Aid, World Wildlife Fund, Childline, Leeds Children’s Charity, Getaway Girls, The Bishop of Ripon and Leeds Sri Lankan Tsunami Appeal and Oxfam
